Polishing pads are designed to refine the surface, increase clarity, and develop the desired level of gloss. These are 800 and higher grit size, although the exact sequence can vary depending on the specification and finish required. Proper preparation in the earlier grinding stages is essential though – any scratches or inconsistencies left behind from previous steps will become more visible as the floor gains gloss.
Superabrasive manufactures a variety of polishing pads with different design and for dry or wet use. Wet polishing helps reduce heat and friction, extends tool life, and can produce a high-clarity finish. However, they require slurry management and cleanup. Dry polishing is more convenient and commonly used, as it allows for faster workflow with less downtime.
We offer velcro-backed pads and QC Ring tools for polishing. Velcro-backed pads are highly versatile and widely compatible with many grinders on the market. QC (Quick Change) Ring tools are designed for Lavina grinders, offering quick tool changes and high-production work.
